We are two weeks into 2025 and the fashion experts have already said their peace on what trends will be hot this upcoming year. The hot items might shock you I know a few did me. Let’s take a look at them together.
Loafers - they seem to be sticking around for another go around. I’m not particularly too upset about this as they can be worn with anything and are a very versatile piece of fashion.
Ruffles - they will not only be on dresses and skirts. They will be showing up on sleeves, collars, and more. The girly girl in me will be thriving with this trend in 2025.
Polka Dots - are back with vengeance. Top stylists are stating that polka dots have come back with a more modern tone. A younger feeling of not being uniform and perfect. We will see them on sheer fabric for a sexier appeal.
Peep-Toed Shoes - ugly, weird, and vintage but just enough to be called fashion. I’m not standing with this one.
No More Purses - I think this one has been a while coming. The slow decline in not having an IT statement bag over the seasons has led up to this. Not to mention pockets in dresses and the cargo pants making a celebratory hot and heavy comeback.
Sports Style - Ruby tops were a hot ticket item in 2024 and they are not going anywhere in 2025 only branching out more. Think sporty tops worn with silk, lace, and leather and sports-style jackets with staple straight-legs and loafers. I am here for this 2025 trend!
Headwear - the biggest accessory this year with be what you put on your head. A hat, headband, caps, the possibilities are endless. I might dip my toe this year in the hat game, I have my headbands as a backup that never fails me.
Bold Shoulders - the 80’s are back and not just in the shoulder-padded blazers. We will be seeing it in blouses, shirts, and dresses too this year. Don’t forget the puffy shoulders too!
Statement Collars - forget the necklace this year. Go for the statement collar instead. It is also said that ties will be having their moment too in 2025. So academic chic.
Trinkets - bag charms were hot towards the end of 2024. They are predicted to burn even hotter in 2025. People want to have fun with their accessories and this is a great way to upcycle old hair accessories, jewelry, or fabric into fun charms.
Trompe l'Oeil Curves - this is a hard no for me.
